The best way to keep a culture alive is to hand it to the next generation. We give young Pakistani Americans a stage, a mic, and a community that cheers the loudest.
Youth Talent Showcase
Every summer we hold open auditions for Pakistan Independence Day: speeches, singing, dance groups, poetry recitation, and instrumental performance. The finalists perform at Balboa Park in front of the whole community. In 2024 that meant a violin rendition of the national anthem, a patriotic speech, and group performances of "Dil Say Pakistan" and "Pasoori."
Art & competitions
Art challenges, language and general-knowledge competitions, and awards that recognize young talent. Our 2021 Patriotic Kids' Art Challenge was judged by local artists.
Leadership & service
Students help run our events: hosting, filming, editing, choreography, and presenting. In 2024, students gave a talk on cross-cultural leadership at Balboa Park's Hall of Nations. Volunteers can request a volunteer-hours letter for school and college applications.
For parents
Performances are rehearsed and supervised by volunteer coaches, and a guardian photo release is collected for every child. VERIFY process W-22
